AG Animal By-Products

This course introduces students to animal by-products, focusing on what they are, where they come from, and how they are used in industries such as food production, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and biofuels. Students will explore the processes involved in turning animal parts like bones, fats, and hides into valuable materials, as well as the environmental and economic impacts of these products. Through hands-on activities and research, students will gain a deeper understanding of the role animal by-products play in Wisconsin’s economy and the importance of sustainability and innovation in their use.
