Course Description: This lab-based class is taught out of our state of the art 18x48 foot greenhouse facility. This course is targeted to those students interested in using their creativity to develop floral and landscape projects. The course will address the basic design principles used in the industry to create projects. Projects may include: maintaining the school landscape, building new landscape projects, pruning trees, corsages and boutonnieres, fresh cut floral arrangements, dried floral designs, basket weaving, grapevine wreaths, and flowers and holiday arrangements. Students will also learn the basics of growing plants by growing house plants and poinsettias for a Christmas sale. Students will reflect on projects and use AET Record system to journal skills and have opportunities in FFA.
