Course Description: The basic elements used to create visual interest in a work of art are stressed in a progression of sophisticated clay sculptural and construction methods. Slab plaques, coil and slab constructed containers, sculptures, as well as wheel thrown pottery will be created. Each creative problem solving assignment will reflect form as well as function in design. Students will develop knowledge of ceramic terms, use of tools and equipment, and creative glaze techniques.
