ART Drawing & Painting I

This is a course for any students who want to learn the basic fundamentals of painting, drawing, and design. Students will learn about the elements and principles of art, line drawing skills, still life techniques, color theory with mixing paint, how to draw using perspective, how artists use positive and negative space, optical art, and patterns. Students will use a variety of mediums throughout the semester. Students who take this course will improve their understanding of art application techniques, what makes a good design/layout, and expand their art and design vocabulary.
