Students taking 2-D Studio Art should have completed Art Foundations with a ‘B+’ or better. This course is for the student interested in advancing his/her abilities and interests in the two-dimensional arts. Students will work within the confines of various media and create a course of study designed specifically to their interests and abilities as an artist. The student will study art history and several artists and their works. Assignments completed will relate directly to historical or cultural references. Students will complete a 9-piece concentration surrounding a theme of their choice. They will create a web based portfolio that includes assessments, writings, reflections, sketches, critiques, and photos of their completed projects.
