This course provides an understanding of the basic elements and concepts of double entry accounting systems. Activities include the accounting equation, the accounting cycle, entering transactions in journals, posting to ledgers, end-of-period statements and reports, payroll systems, banking activities, taxes, uncollectible accounts, depreciation, inventories, and notes and interest. You will prepare and interpret financial statements and apply your knowledge in simulated business projects. Students who are thinking about majoring in business administration, business management, economics, marketing, or accounting after high school will get a head start in this class.
**Earn College Credit** This class is transcripted through Western Technical College which means you will earn high school and college credit upon successful completion of this course. Please note that the college credit earned through WTC is transferable to other technical colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
