BUSINESS Accounting I

Accounting is the language of business. If you're interested in a career in the business field or owning your own business some day, you will benefit greatly with prior knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles. Also, most college business degrees require at least one accounting class. The information covered in the class includes:

  • The basic accounting equation
  • Asset, liability, and owner’s equity accounts
  • Debits and credits
  • Use a T account to analyze transactions
  • Journalize transactions
  • Post transactions from a journal to a ledger
  • Create worksheets and determine net profit
  • Create financial statements for a business
  • Determine wages (net pay) for workers
  • Determine employee taxes and when to file them
  • Adjust accounts for changes that happen during the fiscal period
  • Keep neat and orderly records


**Earn College Credit** This class is transcripted through Western Technical College which means you will earn high school and college credit upon successful completion of this course.
