BUSINESS Career & Employability Skills

Get a job! After discovering your future career path, we'll see what is required to get there (on-the-job training, apprenticeship, technical college, university degree, etc.). We'll develop skills needed to seek, obtain, and maintain employment. Students will complete a job application, create a resume, write a cover letter, interview, and grab the job! This course also covers basic employment/life skills such as insurance, reading your paycheck, and calculating wages. Create a Linked-in account, discuss social media etiquette, and explore professional dress. A job shadow in a career area of their choice will provide students the opportunity to catch a glimpse of what it will be like to work in the career field. Students will also spend time learning about and improving vital soft skills that will ensure their success in the workplace.

This is a great class for students interested in entering the workforce right after high school as well as those continuing their education.
