Software Applications for Business Course Description: This course is highly recommended for anyone pursuing any career. Employers and colleges expect individuals to be equipped with essential computer software skills -- especially popular Microsoft Office software programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access. Students will use spreadsheet software to find loan payments and annuities. Learn how to manage information using databases. With this knowledge, students will be creating newsletters, programs, mail merge, etc. Students will learn a variety skills in those programs like:

Word -- set tab stops, create tables, format text into columns, insert and manipulate graphics and shapes, and format business letters and reports.

Excel -- create and use a spreadsheet, use various formulas and functions, and create charts using spreadsheet data. 

PowerPoint -- learn presentation tips, slide layout, design template, transitions and animations.

In addition, they will improve their skill set in email format, electronic calendars, internet searching, and electronic file management. Students will gain the knowledge needed to produce documents in both personal and professional situations.

**Earn College Credit** This class is transcripted through Western Technical College which means you will earn high school and college credit upon successful completion of this course. Please note that the college credit earned through WTC is transferable to other technical colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
