Course Description: Just Do It! Smile! Eat Fresh! Learn how advertising works and how business uses the sports industry to market their products. Marketing is the tool that has allowed the United States economy to be one of the most successful in the world. Come and learn how fans and companies spend billions of dollars each year on sports and how entertainment is one of the largest exports from the United States to the rest of the world. You will learn the basic functions of marketing and how those functions are applied to sports and entertainment. This is a great follow-up class to Introduction to Business. Leadership development and participation in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) adds to your leadership training. Near the end of the course students will compete against each other to see which owner can earn the most profit and have a winning season. There will also be discussions, assignments, and projects based on the management functions associated with running a business. This would be a great choice for any student considering business as a career or for any student looking for the challenge of running a simulated sports franchise.
