ELA Academic Literacy

Academic Literacy is a confidence-boosting class designed to help students become stronger, more successful readers in every subject. In this class, students build automatic word and text reading skills so reading feels faster, smoother, and less stressful. At the same time, we dive into engaging texts to uncover how authors organize ideas and create meaning. Students sharpen their literacy skills by asking big questions, making connections, and thinking critically about what they read. Reading and writing go hand in hand, so students also practice turning their ideas into clear, powerful writing. Academic Literacy is a supportive space where students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers, and have a fun time doing it!
