ELA English IV

Course Description: This course is designed to teach ELA standards in reading, writing, speaking & listening, and language correlated to the Common Core State Standards for the 11/12 grade band. This course is appropriate for all seniors, whether pursuing college, technical school, military, or work after graduation. English IV is divided into 4 nine-week units of study, each unit consisting of one or two anchor texts supplemented with short stories, articles, poetry, etc. Students may plan on one larger writing assignment that has gone through the revision process and several smaller writing assignments each quarter.
