This class is recommended for students with an interest in working with children. Career areas that would greatly benefit from this course include: Pre-K to third grade education including daycare work, elementary guidance, social workers, and anyone who plans on spending time with young children. This course prepares students for entry-level position as an assistant childcare teacher. Students need an 85% average, 85% attendance, to be at least 17 years old upon completion, and to complete a 10-hour job shadow to meet state certification requirements. Others may take the class for credit without certification.
