FCS Introduction to Human Service and Teaching/ Introduction to Educational Practice
Professionals in social work, therapy, and other human services are helpful when stressful family problem occur and families need support from community or government services. Students will explore and research current family issues and make recommendations based on their data and discussion. Examples of topics are abandoned babies, teenage parenting, low income families, living with disabilities, and disaster preparation. Students interested in teaching can observe and interact in a variety of early childhood settings including elementary school, child care centers, Head Start programs, and early intervention programs. Students will work at a site in their school community or in Blair-Taylor.
