In this course, students will gain skills involving one and two variable statitistics. With one variable statistics, students will gain skills in creating histograms, dotplots, and boxplots. Students will also learn how to calculate mean absolute deviation (MAD) and standard deviation. Students will also be shown how to use spreadsheets to assist with one-variable statistics. Lastly, students will look into outliers in a data set and its' affect on variability. For two-variable statistics, students will gain skills at creating and interpreting two-way tables, as well as incoroporating percentage questions with whole groups and sub groups in those tables. Students will also learn how to create linear models with a scatterplot using technology, as well as interpreting the strenght of the linear model with a correlation coefficient. Lastly, students will look at associations in two-variable data and whether or not a correlation or a causal relationship exists given data or a description.
