MUSIC Accidentals

The Accidentals is an AUDITIONED a cappella group that is offered at Arcadia High School. Students need to audition in the early Spring of the year for the following school year. Only approximately 20 students will be accepted based on talent and the voice parts that are needed for the upcoming school year. A cappella music is extremely difficult and requires extra rigor to be successful. Students involved in this class receive at least four voice lessons throughout the trimester. The Accidentals’ members may also choose to be in the Concert Choir, but if they cannot due to scheduling issues, they will still perform with the Concert Choir for concerts and Large Group contest. The Accidentals will perform at several concerts throughout the year, as well as attend Acafests/Clinics to improve their skill. They will also compete at ICHSA. Most years they will perform for the Ashley for the Arts celebration in August. Participation in this class will give the students an opportunity to be in the fall musical, and Solo Ensemble if they so choose. The AHS Accidentals will also have the opportunity to participate in the music tours (ex. New York/Chicago) that happen every other year.
