Course Description: This course will cover all aspects of music, focusing on history, theory, composition, and conducting. The first quarter will consist of learning the basics of theory as well as an overview of music history. Students will be instructed in the basics of conducting and will be given an opportunity to direct one of the school’s ensembles. The second quarter will consist of applying the knowledge learned in the first quarter by composing an original work of music. This piece will be performed and conducted by the students at a concert premiering their works.
