MUSIC Mixed Chorus

The High School Choir is a mixed ensemble open to any student in grades 9-12. Students participating in this group will continue to develop their musicianship skills and singing ability. The focus will be placed on proper breath management, vocal production and tone, sight-reading, music theory, diction, style, and refining the role of the individual in a large performance ensemble. The High School Choir will perform a variety of repertoire from various genres, time periods, and cultures. They will perform on the Fall/Pops Concert, Veteran’s Day, Holiday Concert, Large Group Contest, Spring Concert, and Graduation. Other performances are also possible during the course of the school year. Students also have the opportunity to participate in solo/ensemble. Prerequisite: Previous choral experience or a voice placement audition/interview with the Choral Director. All students are encouraged to be in this performance-based ensemble.
