SCIENCE Biology Arcadia

The interactions between the biosphere and the rest of Earth’s systems influence students every day from the food that they eat to the air that they breathe. Some of these mechanisms occur in the blink of an eye while others take millions of years to unfold. Instructional units will focus on ecosystem interactions, evidence of evolution, inheritance of traits, and structure/function/growth from cells to organisms. Students will use evidence, evaluate claims, develop models, and use a variety of other science and engineering practices. Students begin with phenomena and use them to enhance their understanding of core ideas in biological science and Earth and space sciences. *This is a prerequisite for anatomy and physiology any other biology elective.
