CHEM 111/116 is the first course in a comprehensive general chemistry sequence (CHEM 111/116 and CHEM 112/117) designed for students in programs that require one or more years of chemistry. This course introduces key concepts including atomic and molecular structure, bonding theories, intermolecular forces, chemical formulas and equations, and the principles of chemical reactions and energy. A scientific calculator is necessary for course work. Students need to have completed HS Chemistry, Algebra II or be concurrently enrolled in Algebra II or have a WI Math placement test score of 70 or higher.

In order to qualify for Dual Credit enrollment for this course, students must have teacher approval AND must earn a B or better in Chemistry OR earn an ACT score of 22 or higher in the Science Portion.
