The Foundations of Social Studies course emphasizes the themes of U.S. History and American Government and Society while building general background knowledge and content and English language skills. The course will build the foundation for the study of government (the structure and function of national, state, and local U.S. Government, the principles of market economics and contemporary U.S. issues) and the study of U.S. history (political, economic, and social developments that have occurred in the United States from 1865 to the present). Students placement based teacher recommendation, WIDA screener (language screener test) score and/or WIDA ACCESS score.
