Course Description: Auto Technology is for students interested in making a career as a auto technician. During the class students will learn and perform basic safety, organization, tool usage, and metal work in the Automotive area.
Students will learn about specialty tools, parts room procedures, parts purchasing, computer analysis systems, automotive cutting and welding, and perform basic car repair. This course is an introduction to our facility and the tools that we use to make auto repair.
Areas covered are engines, fuel system, cooling systems, disc and drum brake overhaul, testing equipment, oscilloscope patterns, scan tool diagnostics, lubrication system, safety inspection, and wheel and tire diagnosis and repair. The final quarter of class, students will be paired with a mentor for on the job training.
**Earn College Credit:: This class is transcripted through Western Technical College which means you will earn high school and college credit upon successful completion of this course. Please note that the college credit earned through WTC is transferable to other technical colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
