TECH ED Introduction to Industrial Design

Course Description: Gateway to Technology is a semester long course that is divided into five sections.

Unit 1 – Plastics: Students will learn about different types of plastics and how they affect our everyday life.

Unit 2 – Metals: Students will learn basic metals hand tools and machines. All safety guidelines - to fabricate a small tool box.

Unit 3 – Woods: Students will learn the basics of and tolls and safety of all wood working machines- and build a small project.

Unit 4 – Drafting: Students will learn the basic drafting skills needed to help them move into an upper level CADD class. We will be discussing both architecture and mechanical drafting.

Unit 5 – Sublimation: Students will learn different techniques used in the sublimation process. This unit will focus on learning the Corel Draw Design Software in order to print and press different objects.

*This course is recommended for several technology classes.
