WORLD LANG Hispanic Cultures

In this class, students will learn about various aspects (products, practices, and perspectives) of the Spanish speaking world. We will answer the question: Who are Hispanic people and delve into the unique aspects of the countries and their regions through exploration of music, art, food, and celebrations such as Day of the Dead. Additionally, we will take a look at some of the historical events that have occurred and the U.S.’s impact and influence on some of these events. Finally, this course encourages you to find Spanish in the 'Real World' and interact with culture outside of class! By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding of the diversity of the Spanish speaking world, an appreciation for the different cultures that make up the Hispanic world, and a better understanding and appreciation for your own culture as well!
