WORLD LANGUAGE AP Spanish Language and Culture

This class is designed to help native, or close to fluent speakers of Spanish understand the target language and culture at a deeper level. Communication continues to be completely in the Spanish language. AP Spanish Language and Culture is equivalent to an intermediate level college course in Spanish. Students cultivate their understanding of Spanish language and culture by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication in real-life situations as they explore concepts related to family and communities, personal and public identities, beauty and aesthetics, science and technology, contemporary life, and global challenges. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam. Students with a C- or above would also be eligible to continue to AP Spanish Literature AND/OR Interpreting Principles (Viterbo University.)

Length: (2) Trimesters

Grade Level: 10, 11, 12

Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C- or better in Spanish 4/Heritage Spanish 1 for both parts A and B.
