WORLD LANGUAGE Spanish II | Español II

Spanish 2 builds upon knowledge gained in Spanish 1. In their study of stories and short novels, second year Spanish students are involved in the four communication skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Emphasis is on perfecting pronunciation, mastery of the basic grammatical structures, and an increased communicative proficiency. An increase of functional vocabulary acquisition is expected. Students will be expected to apply this in both their writing and speaking. In addition, students' cultural knowledge and listening skills will be strengthened through Hispanic music. In this class, students will be exposed to various tenses (past, present, future) and commands in the target language. Upon successful completion of this course with a C- or above, students would be eligible to continue to Spanish IIIA.
